Anti-vibration systems in the air conditioning, ventilation and energy sectors

A wide range of industrial equipments are based on rotating machineries, working (as an active or passive part) on some kind of fluid being moved or creating energy. UTA, HVAC, air conditioners belong to the first kind of machineries where the treated air is then led in a closed space in order to maintain required environmental parameters.

These devices use both static (filters, dryers…) and rotating parts (compressors, pumps, fans…) moving the fluid: as far as technology allowed this machines to be more and more silent and balanced, external conditions could lead them to work in conditions different from the ideal ones. For instance, having ATU installed on a low frequency floor could create an interaction with the civil structure creating annoying vibrations that can be heard or transmitted in the nearbies, creating discomfort. The other kind of machineries convert the energy of a fluid into motion (turbines, internal combustion engines…) to produce mechanical power, usually then converted in electricity. About generators the main issue is to avoid the vibration transmission to the bearing structure, and in case of very large apparatuses, together with the need to reduce these vibrations, there is also the requirement of using mounts able to ensure safety in case of seismic (avoiding the suspended device to fall down) or unexpected (sudden shutdown) events.
